J2EE - Application Server Specification ที่สนับสนุนการทำ Load balancing, Transaction, Resource Polling และ Message Oriented Service
EJB - Component Architecture ที่ทำงานบน Application Server (ที่กล่าวข้างบน)
OSGi - Dynamic Modules (คิดง่าย ๆ ว่าเป็น jar ที่สามารถ deploy แบบ dynamic คือ start, stop ได้โดยที่ไม่กระทบกับ module อื่น ๆ )
